4A/4B Corporations

We recognize that one of the best tools a City can use to promote economic development and redevelopment is the adoption of a Type A or Type B sales tax.  Our attorneys represent over a dozen Type A and Type B Corporations in north and central Texas and have done so since the inception of the law.  We assist our clients with the initial establishment of Type A and Type B corporations, advise corporation boards on permissible projects, help boards navigate the requirements of the Development Corporation Act, and draft and negotiate contracts for small and large incentives to companies bringing growth and development to our clients’ cities.

Tax Abatement

Moving to a new city and a new market is a complex decision to make for business owners, and convincing those business owners to make that move to your city is even more difficult. Hotel Occupancy

Making your city attractive to tourists and visitors is directly related to lodging and hotels there in your city. Here at NJDHS, we understand the importance of getting visitors to your city, but more importantly, we know how complex it can be to get the right compliances and paperwork in order for this to happen legally. Our team is well-versed in the law regarding occupancy taxes and know what it takes to make sure you’re compliant so that you can get back to doing what is most important; getting people to visit.

One of the major keys to making your city and municipality succeed and innovate is what your public property and land looks and feels like. At Nichols Jackson, we help cities with the complicated processes of establishing public improvement districts to propel them to the next level.
